Hi! I’m Owen. Coming from a family with creative minds I have always been passionate about art, design and everything that is associated with it. Influenced by an uncle that was an architect I decided that I wanted to be one as well, aged six. Twenty years later I have completed my education in architecture at Delft University of Technology and have widely practiced architecture for several firms and as a self-employed. My best skills and interests lay with architecture, interior design and detailing while I also enjoy the study of new construction techniques and innovative building materials.

Co-founder & Architect
Together with my partner Sjors Hagenbeek we founded Atelier Scala with the intention to independently practice architecture during our Masters. So far this has resulted in a successfull plan for the reconstruction of a villa in Oudenbosch.
2021 - Now
Gatun Lake Construction LLC, PA/NL
3D Visualisation & Assisting Architect
GLC developed a building system that allows affordable and rapid construction at mountainous sites across Panama.My role at the company first entailed the 3D visualisation of the system’s possibilities in vivid renders, while later my responsibilities extended to the architectural design of a large number of houses for vacation parks.

The Motown Movement, USA
Architect & Construction Manager
The Motown Movement is a non-profit initiated by students from Delft University of Technology that aims to make sustainable housing affordable for people with low incomes by implying DIY techniques and behavioural changes. As the architect and construction manager it was my job to design and guide the remodelling of the showcase house and community centre in Detroit, whereafter I supervised my successor the following year.

TIMM Architecture, GE/NL
Intern & Junior Architect
TIMM is a progressive and young archticture firm based in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia. As an intern I participated with the founder in all the running projects and even managed the team on two design processes. After my internship I co-worked with TIMM remotely from the Netherlands, working on a large scale project in Istanbul.
